Back in August, we do a day for each one where they get to make some meal choices and pick some activities for the day.
Cool crown they made
I don’t have hardly any pictures and I’m pretty sure I have written down what he wanted to do?? It definitely involved screen time;)
I had a softball game, so they all came to that–check the boys out, I snapped a picture before telling them to come down!
We wrapped up the day at the pool, it was late but Tobin really wanted to go so we cooled off and had a short swim and a snack of course.
I actually thought I blogged about this already, but sadly no:(, funny thing though is that it is already completed in his birthday scrapbook!
Tobin is quite obsessed with Super Mario (and no, I don’t like it at all!), despite our strict limit setting of screen time, he seems to be thinking about it all the time. I’ve never done character themed birthdays, kind of like I don’t like characters on my kids clothing-I figure, why should I pay for their advertising. Anyway, we indulged him a bit, and made these “1 up” mini cupcakes-that’s it, no decorations or napkins or plates but he was happy as a clam with these, he seemed to rake in the Mario gifts though. Good message for us parents-we don’t need to go overboard to brighten our kids days!
Issy hung out with us all day. Trish & Noelle came with Mom & Dad (sorry Mom & Dad, not sure how I didn’t get a picture with you!)
Trish got him a super soft Mario blanket
Grandma & Grandpa got him a new Wii game
Grandma helping put his Mario cart together, I figure why not get him something non-virtual to play with-maybe that will fade his screen obsession
I love this picture of us:)
Another hot, beautiful day!
Taking a break to fire off a couple of rockets-what is it with the male species and their fascination with anything to do with fire or explosions??
Back to beach! This one’s for you Norma (and yes, they are on the lifeguard chair)
I can’t remember, but I think there was a bribe involved in this shot, you cooperate and give me a real smile and i’ll give you something (but can’t remember what)
Awww, aren’t they lovely:) My SIL Pam, niece Shelby & MIL Sandy
Ezra was sort of secretly jealous of Joshua’s ripstick ability, finally he got him to help, here they are training-they spent hours together on the last 2 days trying to help Ezra master this.
Our last off-camp trip was across the lake to the ice cream store. Marian & I kayaked . . .
Kelly decided that was way too much work so he sailed with Tobin
And, thankfully, our friend John happened to be standing nearby while we were trying to figure out what to do with Ezra. I knew I couldn’t manage a canoe with Ez & Marian and the kayaks only fit 2, so John decided to go too:)
We closed out our week with the annual talent show, Marian sang the Untitled Hymn (aka Come to Jesus) and made me feel so proud to be her mama.
We had such a great week, sorry it took me 2 months to finally share it with my blog friends!
That crazy front tooth finally came out, so now he’s lost both his front teeth-I love pictures of kids without teeth, his other one is coming in too quickly though!
And, at school, he was the star of the week in his class, we sent in some pictures and they interviewed him, this was the poster he brought home
If you can’t read it, the 3rd thing says “He used to have a fish.” Pretty pathetic, I have to admit that I felt sort of bad-not enough to go out and buy a puppy but pretty bad.
My friend Karen’s daughter, isn’t she lovely!
