Ever since I was about 18 years old I’ve wanted to do a triathlon (see “bucket list” above). When I was younger I wanted to “compete” and perhaps that is why I have never done one, never felt in good enough shape to. Now, I’m just interested in finishing one and I really could care less if I’m the last one to finish an hour after everyone else does. And, I’m not talking about an Iron Man just a little “sprint” triathlon-which is much shorter and supposed to be faster but again I’m just aiming to finish. I was all set to start training in the fall to get myself motivated through the winter and then the knee thing happened and I have barely done anything for about 6 months. The knee is healing so it’s time to jump in. I have 2 big hurdles to overcome: #1 I don’t run, basically I’m dealing with that by being ok walking it, #2 I don’t know how to swim correctly (I’ve never been able to put my head under water without plugging my nose). Learning to do this is also on my bucket list. So, off I went to our rec center tonight to try “again”, it’s honestly not going that well (I inhaled a lot of water again) but I’m not much of a quitter so I’ll keep at it. Not sure how this will turn out but hopefully the training will be good for me anyway:)
PS Have any of you swam laps? It’s amazingly exhausting, I have a new respect for Mari-she’s done 16 before!

I checked Mari’s homework and found this

She had to fill in the grid with all the numbers, I noticed that she must have gotten tired of writing the #1 over and over again so did a straight line through all the rows instead. I was cracking up, totally something I would think of! And, when Kelly saw it, he says “that’s my girl”. I guess you combine Kelly’s brains and my extreme dislike for inefficiency and you get Mari-we pray it will serve her well:) Oh, and neither one of us is especially neat-oh well.

We have the craziest bedtime routine that actually evolved from a nice easy dancing in the room to Jesus Loves the Little Children. Then Kelly kicked up a notch by spinning them in circles, then it was spinning really fast and now he dangles them from their feet and flies them through the air. Tonight he did all three at once. Not exactly a “calming routine” but they love it.

Just cleaning up files and found these shots from Sunday. Ezra & Tobin came out of their room on Sunday morning completely dressed — at 6:30 a.m. I wasn’t super crazy about Ezra’s choice for church but since he did it all by myself I let it go. The only downside? Poor Tobin didn’t get a diaper change until 8am and we were about to leave when we realized he still had his overnight diaper on, yikes was it soaked.

Ezra has been really into showing us how strong he is, he’ll walk around lifting various things to show off. Here he’s showing his muscles-this makes me want to take a picture like this every year:)

Here’s the rest of Baby Isaac-8 days old and oh soooo sweet. Doesn’t it look like he’s grinning.

Check out his foot–apparantly Kendra says he does this all the time, during the ultrasound they couldn’t see his feet because he had them all curled up.
