Kelly & kids washed the vehicles this afternoon . . .
Then, Mari wanted to skate which meant Ezra wanted to, I wasn’t feeling up to holding his hand down the sidewalk so I was discouraging him, so Mari took it upon herself to help him:)
Random boys . . . every once in awhile we look outside and there are extra boys in our backyard. I love that about neighbors:)
Mari made a kite today, she has done this on many occasions, one of these days we’re going to have to get her a kit to make one that will actually fly. This particular model is a parrot that she cut out and colored all by herself–the picture doesn’t do it justice.
Tobin took his “doggies” outside and curled up in this sled that I bought at a garage sale, he did the same thing at the garage sale with one of their stuffed animals (which is why I bought the sled:)). . .
We went to the park this afternoon, a park that I love to take pictures at and it was one of those perfectly cloudy great light for pictures day so I ignored my cold and brought the camera, hoping to get a 2 year picture of Tobin and a 6 year picture of Mari (I know she’s been 6 for awhile but I haven’t got one yet that I’m happy with and she is still 6!)
We got this one of Tobin, I found some frames in Photoshop Elements so was playing around . . .
Didn’t get one I loved of Mari, and we ended with some ice cream . . .
I’m not feeling great (sore throat, low grade fever & tired) so Kelly took the kids out this morning so I could lay around–I know, I know he’s great:) I have been hearing over & over again over the past maybe year & a half that I need to learn how to be quiet with God, to be able to listen to him, not just talk to him. I pray quite a bit but this quietly listening thing has had me baffled for months. My brain just doesn’t seem to be capable of stillness. Last week in Sunday School we talked about various kinds of Christian meditation (not the new age oneness with the universe garbage, the kind Jesus demonstrated in the Bible:)), one of them suggested meditating on a few verses or single verse–this seemed like something I could maybe do.
So, today, with the house quiet, I sat quietly, God brought a verse to mind, I meditated and I HEARD FROM HIM, He gave me so much, I had to grab my journal and take notes. It’s a pretty sensitve topic for me so I don’t think I’m ready to share the details with the public but I am so grateful and excited and amazed.
We haven’t been to the ball park this year so decided at the last minute to go. The kids had fun, I scored some free ride tickets from a nice lady in the bathroom so Mari & Ezra got a carousel ride. We went with Kelly’s parents, some pix from the trip . . .

Do you want to know how good my husband is? I had a fun event at work tonight–canoeing and picnic (see Jackie’s blog on the right for a picture of that) while Kelly stayed home and took Mari & Ezra to their first swim lessons. Not only did he haul all three kids to the pool (& Tobin is not exactly easy!) for 1 1/2 hours but he brought the camera!
We were a bit concerned about Ezra, this being his first in the water without us–he did quite well! Here’s a couple pictures . . .
