Yesterday, Lauren was over again taking her nap and she was so happy when she got up, I decided to put her hair in pigtails, her first I heard from Mary when she saw her. I was a little worried that she might be bummed that I did her first ones, but she assures me she just thought she looked really cute when she saw her. I didn’t get the picture I wanted but you can sort of see them in these.
It’s been a rather low key week, here are some highlights: we have walked and biked almost every morning this week, Ezra is great! He now rides fast enough for me to actually get some exercise while pushing Tobin in the stroller. I rode my bike to work on Wednesday, Mari has been at VBS every day so it’s been very quiet in the afternoon, and just prepping for Camp.
Something funny Ez said today: I was sitting and he was standing on my legs trying to show me “how tall he was”, he measures and say’s “I’m as tall as your kissing place” referring to my lips. Reminds me of a Bible verse about using your lips/mouth for encouragement, not for negative and for the life of me I can’t find that verse–does anyone know which one I’m talking about. Anyway, I was glad he didn’t call it my “yelling place”! I’m so glad children have so much love they can overlook our faults, a nice glimpse of Jesus’ love for us:)

Mari has been going to a VBS this week at a friends church with John, Ben and, Issy. Today Mary picked them all up and left Lauren with me to take a nap. So, I had 3 sleeping kids for the afternoon and got some more prep for Camp done!

What do these have in common you ask–it just summarizes our Sunday:)
In the morning, Mari & Ez picked a batch of peas–they really look amazing, the plants are very pretty. I can see why we didn’t grow these as a kid though (and trust me we grew everything else), it’s an awful lot of work for a few peas, you can see Tobin enjoying their harvest.

| Saturday night, Mari ran out from her room to ask me a question. She whispered in my ear “do you think I can be a teacher for the boys and do a Bible school?” How do you say no to that:) So after our pea harvest, Mari had Bible school for the boys. We had to give them a snack to keep them at the table, she told them the story of Jonah–remarkably accurate I might add and then it was choice time. When I was leaving for work this morning, she was trying to round them up for their next lesson. |

I was in the nursery during church and got to hold baby Asher and put him to sleep, he slept for 45 minutes on me–it was wonderfully enjoyable!
After church we picked up our little sailboat from Pam & Robs house-thanks for storing it for us for the winter! Then Mari and I went shopping for a bit. I was looking for some plaid shorts and the Eddie Bauer outlet had them all at $14.99. I found a blue pair, grabbed a size 10, and a size 8 (just in case) and tried them on. They were a little big so I was excited to be able to try the size 8 on–to my amazement, I had the size 8 on! I actually had to leave the dressing room and get the size 6. Now let me tell you that I honestly can’t ever remember wearing a size 6, I think I went from 14 slims to size 8. I was pretty excited, I walked out of the there with the shorts, a size 6 denim skirt (on clearance for $9) and a size medium t-shirt (usually I wear a large). If you’re wondering why this has happened, I am on an all out assault on my flabby belly. So, I’ve been back on Weight Watchers, and following a new cookbook that has almost changed my life–it’s called the “Hungry Girl” cookbook, on sale at Costco for $9.79 (I had it spiral bound at Office Max today). She was a website also, I’ll add it to my blog roll. I even have Kelly doing this bikini body work out from Shape magazine–don’t worry I have no intention of getting a bikini! So, it’s working to take some weight off and the abs do look better but 3 babies puts a lot of “yuck” in the middle. I’ll just leave it at that:)

| Bet you thought I was talking about Tobin:) Mari took a wall climbing class today at the rec center. She made it to the top both times of course to ring the bell and really liked it. She’s all set to try it at camp again now. She really is amazing, her legs are long and she is so flexible. It actually reminds me of watching me nieces climb when they were younger (same legs!)–hi Jess & Shelby;-) . They offer a family class that we’ll have to do to learn to set her up and ourselves so we can use the wall any time for free as part of our membership. I’m looking for another mom to partner with, we’ll pull our kids up and then give each other a try–any takers out there?? |

On another note–I took Ezra on the tandem today for an hour ride, he was great even though he can’t peddle, his legs aren’t quite long enough. It felt great for me to get a workout rather than the 20-30 minute rides around the neighborhood.
