Well, it finally happened

Posted 2 years, 3 months ago at 8:49 pm.

We knew it was coming but were hoping to put it off as long as possible–Tobin climbed out of the pack-n-play.  We put him in there for “thinking time” (aka time out) and next thing you know he’s in the kitchen sporting Ezra’s orange sun glasses.  Keep in mind that Ezra still hasn’t climbed out, granted he hasn’t been in it for awhile.  I was fully expecting 2 little boys to be visiting us after climbing out of their cribs at bedtime but not yet.  Maybe the cribs are more intimidating because they are much higher off the ground.  Here’s a picture of him looking all cute & innocent dressed up as a cowboy
Kelly & Mari went on a “date” this afternoon.  He took her to a par 3 golf course.  It was rather windy but they had fun, Mari got to putt on each green.  I asked her how it was and she said “Daddy put alot of balls in the river”-that’s not Kelly’s story (he says only 2). To his credit, it’s a very challenging for a Par 3 course.
Ezra is learning to use a mouse, here he’s playing a computer game and the other two are completely entranced as well.  He is getting pretty good at it.  It’s interesting that before Mari was 3 she was a pro with the computer (coincides with Ezra’s birth:)) but couldn’t color (and didn’t want to).  Ezra is quite good at coloring and really likes it but is just now learning the mouse–is there a correlation??
Yesterday, we had a fun morning with friends, Mary came with John, Ben & Lauren, and Jody came with Abby.  It was Ben’s birthday–Happy Birthday Ben, below is a picture of him making a giant bubble.  The other picture is Abby–isn’t she sweet!

Hula Girl & Sk8r Boys

Posted 2 years, 3 months ago at 6:55 pm.

It seems like every week Mari is learning a new skill, now we can add hula hooping.  She got one for her birthday and based on her attempts I seriously didn’t think she’d get it for a long time!  But, she’s been practicing a lot and today she had it going around several times.  She does come by it naturally–I’ve won 2 hula hooping contests (yes, Trish as an adult!)

Ezra seems to be a natural scooter rider and Tobin will try anything!

Back to Normal

Posted 2 years, 3 months ago at 7:38 pm.

Kelly’s back to work today, I think he was glad to get back–yesterday he said he needed a day “on” instead of  a day “off”:)

We had a great day, laying low and playing with the kids.  We played monkey in the middle and made a lot of bubbles (Tobin actually blew some himself).

A funny thing that Ezra said while we were eating breakfast yesterday morning ”I guess we can get back to normal”.  He’s only 3 and yet he seems to say things that we would expect to come out of Mari’s mouth!

Mom's Weekend

Posted 2 years, 3 months ago at 7:34 pm.

I just got back from our annual “Mom’s weekend” with my Mom & 2 sisters.  We shopped, played games, laughed, talked, ate too much, got pedicures and had a great time.  Kelly did a fabulous job managing the home front and thanks to his parents for taking Mari & Ezra this afternoon:)

The zoo

Posted 2 years, 3 months ago at 3:06 pm.

We took a trip to the zoo this morning, along with about 10,000 other people!  Seriously, I think there were 1000 people waiting to get in when we arrived–major field trip day. This was the first time I’ve taken all three by myself so the crowds were a bit scary.  I brought the wagon and had Mari sit behind Tobin to keep him seated (and not escaping).  We went straight to the back of the zoo to avoid the crowds so it wasn’t bad at all.  This is the only picture of all 3 of them looking in the direction of the camera (I took about 40!).

The boys playing with the rhino

(don’t worry it’s not real!)

Tobin wanting to be just like his big brother:)

I took this picture a couple days ago, great overcast sky, perfect lighting.  Once again I could not get them all to look at me but thought this one was cute anyway.
